I owe a lot to my daughter, my Mini.
I am who I am, I do what I do, because of her. Her life, her reason for being in this world, is also my reason.
I am who I am because of her.
The first month of her life, she has taught me some of life’s toughest lessons.
My entire life, or at least the parts that I can remember, have been a certain way. I have lived a specific way that I never thought would change, like the majority of people. It’s hard to change, who we are, the core of us. It’s just the way it is.
My weaknesses, my strengths, my beliefs, my knowledge and all my way changed the moment I found my self on my knees, asking someone, screaming for anyone, everyone listening, to help guide me through this journey our Mini was handed.
She taught me new strengths I never knew I had, she showed me when to trust, and she helped me understand the unacceptable and the unbelievable. She showed me the good that comes out of the HORRIBLE.
She is my reason.
We started collaborating with March of Dimes because of our Mini. We started our own fundraisers; our own NICU drives because of her.
As most of you already know, we are very passionate about March of Dimes, and the annual March for Babies Walk. My husband and I always felt like we needed to give back to the organization that saved our Minis life. That saved our life. We continue to support not just March of Dimes, but also all the families having to go through what we endured.
So we ask you, help us reach our goal.
Help us find a cure for every baby born sick. Help us prevent premature birth that leads to so many life-threatening complications. Help us provide support to NICU families and guide them through this difficult time. Help us offer the correct education during pregnancy to prevent some of these obstacles. Help us send every NICU baby home.
Here is where our donations went to from our 2017 March for Babies Walk:
-Nearly 4 Million babies were given a fighting chance
-More than 75,000 families with a baby born preterm or very sick were supported through the NICU family Support Program
-$19.3 Million was invested in research to defeat premature birth and birth defects
-110 wins in advocacy and legislation were achieved across the country
-200 scientists collaborated to find causes and treatments for premature birth at Prematurity Research Centers
-25 states improved or maintained their rate of preterm birth (IL maintained at Category C)
-$2.9 Million invested in communities to help mom have healthy babies
Here is something else;

So please, don’t hesitate to help. Join Team Mini, Donate, Share or do whatever you can to help us get every baby home.
With Love,
a mama + her mini
